Getting Assistance

The $1 Energy Fund provides grants to low income residential customers for electric bills. To qualify for assistance, certain guidelines must be met:

• Eligible customers must apply for all available assistance grants before appling to the $1 Energy Fund
• They must meet the grant program guidelines, including making a sincere effort of payment (at least $100 on their account in the last 90 days).
• Applicants must have a balance on their utility bill of at least $100.

Applications for aid through the $1 Energy Fund will be available starting March 1st at the Wellsboro Electric Office. Please speak to a company representative for detailed grant information.

The $1 Energy Fund makes all decisions on who receives help and how much. They review the family's or individual's needs based on specific criteria, directing help where it's need most.

The $1 Energy Fund Grant Program is a non-profit organization made up of nine Pennsylvania utilities to provide energy assistance to low income people.

The partner utility companies match every dollar donated and 100 percent of the contributions are used to provide energy grants to in-need customers. The $1 Energy Fund partners with 130 community-based agencies and utility companies to provide energy assistance to those less fortunate.
